AUSSIE

Julia Roberts has been working in education for over 30 years. Julia has been a teacher, principal and educational director for statewide early childhood services.

She has early childhood and special education qualifications. Julia has worked predominantly in Early Childhood settings working with families and communities in the state of Victoria, Australia. She specializes in developing early language and literacy skills in young children who are at risk of failing to achieve age appropriate reading and writing competencies.

Julia has been working in New York City for 4 years. During this time her work has included:

• supporting teachers in classrooms to implement reading and writing programs in a balanced literacy framework
• facilitating and presenting professional development workshops
• presenting parent workshops
• working with grade level teams to review and write curriculum maps
• working with principals and school leadership teams on school improvement
