Lisa Burman

LISA BURMAN is an experienced teacher and school leader.  She currently works as an Education Consultant in Australia and New York, supporting school leaders to develop school wide plans for pedagogical change.  Lisa’s interests include early childhood education, embedding the principles of the Reggio Emilia in learning environments, literacy learning, resilience and building schools as Learning Communities.  Lisa has published articles in Australia on such topics as Articulating School Vision, Strategic Planning for Professional Development, Cooperative Learning and Literacy Learning through Play.  

Most recently, Lisa has presented at International Reading Association Annual Convention (Chicago, 2006), Australian Literacy Educators Association Annual Conference (Darwin, 2006), National Staff Developers Association New York State Conference (Rochester, 2006) and National Association for the Education of Young Children Annual Convention (Atlanta, 2006).  Her first book was recently published by Redleaf Press and is titled “Are You Listening? Fostering Conversations that Help Young Children Learn”.
