Dip.T. Early Childhood/Primary; B.Ed.; M.Ed. Mathematics Education

Elizabeth Irwin has worked as a teacher, education consultant, university lecturer, deputy principal, principal and regional leader in developing Whole School Curriculum Frameworks in Math and Literacy. Her passions include a constructivist approach to Mathematics teaching and learning, early childhood education and school leadership in a culture of change. She has co-authored a text used currently in a number of universities in teacher education courses, titled “Playing with Curriculum”.

Her depth of knowledge and capacity for building professional learning communities in schools has been realized through her instigation and facilitation of the Teachers’ Learning Network community as well as her professional development consultancy work with teachers and administrators. Elizabeth is currently completing her doctorate, focusing on school leadership and professional learning communities with curriculum change.
