AUSSIE

MARGIE CROMBIE is an Australian literacy consultant with more than 25 years experience in the field of education. Margie’s experience includes teaching, curriculum writing, project management, and being a demonstration teacher for student teachers studying at an Australian University.

After receiving a Diploma of Teaching from Brisbane Kindergarten Teachers’ College, Margie continued her education, obtaining a Bachelors degree in Education from Kelvin Grove College of Advanced Education and a Graduate Degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from Queensland University of Technology.  

Margie’s most recent Australian experience was as an advanced skills teacher in Queensland, Australia.  Her experience allowed her to provide professional development in literacy to her colleagues as well as create professional development packages for teachers who trialled the curriculum guidelines.

Since coming to the United States, Margie has provided on-site professional development in numerous schools throughout New York City.  Margie’s hands-on approach to teaching literacy coupled with her flawless understanding of best practices in teaching is what distinguishes her as an irreplaceable asset to any school system.
