AUSSIE

Mark Barratt is an Australian Literacy consultant with 30 years experience in Elementary education. He is an Education graduate from the University of South Australia. His recent work has included presentations at New York and New Jersey State Literacy Conferences, as well as workshops for educators in Alabama and Toronto, Canada. He conducts workshops and seminars for teachers and administrators at school, region, city, and state-wide levels.

For the past 9 years Mark has provided on-site professional development in both New Jersey and New York City schools. In 2006/7 he presented at the South Eastern International Reading Association Conference in Mobile, Alabama, the National Reading Recovery Association Conference in Columbus, Ohio, the NCTE Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, the National Urban Alliance conference in Birmingham, Alabama and was a ticketed presenter at the IRA International Convention and Conference in Toronto, Canada. Mark has been invited to present at several upcoming Literacy and Education conferences, including the Alabama Reading Association Annual Conference, the Literacy for All Conference in Rhode Island, and the ASCD National Conference in New Orleans.
