Noel Ridge
NOEL RIDGE is an Australian teacher, staff developer, literacy consultant, Assistant Principal and Principal, who has been involved in consultancy and staff development work with districts and schools in the United States since 1993. He has worked in many U.S. states, providing professional development for administrators, teachers, parents, and students at district, regional, and school levels.
He has worked with Teacher's College at Columbia University and University of California Writing Projects, as well as providing in class modeling for the Reading Recovery Project at New York University.
His consultancy through AUSSIE has involved curriculum planning, in-class modeling, coaching and debriefing, and conducting workshops and seminars. He has wide experience coaching Literacy Specialists and Teaching Coaches in school districts in Virginia, New Jersey and New York.
He has been a speaker at National, State and International Literacy conferences, in Australia and the US, including the National Reading Recovery conference, Illinois State Reading Conference, Texas Woman’s University Early Literacy Conference. Noel will be presenting a session at the upcoming National IRA conference in Phoenix.
Recently In Australia he has been the Critical Friend for the Literacy Improvement Team working in focus schools in Loddon-Mallee Region, Victoria, coached a team of 10 Teaching and Learning Coaches as they worked with Principals, Senior Education Officers and teacher in classes in schools.
He planned for, led and coached a group of 11 Australian Educators researching teacher coaching and the effect on student outcomes, and 1:1e learning in 17 different schools in New York and New Jersey.
