Sandy Scragg - AUSSIE Education Technology Consultant
SANDY
SCRAGG is an educational technologist in New
York. She began working in educational technology
during her first year as a teacher, when she was thrust into a computer lab.
That year, Sandy
won a technology curriculum grant for her online journalism class, and never
looked back.
Since then, she has gone from an award-winning New York City English teacher to a technology program director at a national education non-profit, a regional technology specialist at the New York City Department of Education, and is currently an educational technology consultant in New York. Sandy is a skilled workshop designer and facilitator whose down-to-earth and hands-on approach has won over many converts. She has also authored online courses for both teachers and students, which have been administered across the nation. Sandy is a self-professed "mac person," but is well-versed in a wide array of software, platforms and applications.
Sandy's interest in technology began when she was a New York City high school student in the 80s, continued through the 90s when she was a pioneer user of the worldwide web, and today, she publishes her own website and blog. Sandy received both her B.A. and M.A. from New York University.
Before embarking on a career in education, Sandy worked in both magazine publishing and television production. Sandy is also an obsessive reader, knitter, and of course, web surfer.
Meet Sandy at her upcoming workshop.
