Stella Pulo

Stella Pulo is a vibrant and exciting teacher and artist with a wide range of skills, experience and knowledge ranging from all facets of performing to teaching literacy through the arts. She has written English curriculum for the Japanese Ministry of Education, the Victorian Arts Centre (WinterArts Programme) in Australia and for more than nine Arts-in-Education agencies in New York and New Jersey. Her specialty is storytelling as a pathway to reading and writing.

Stella has taught at all grade levels from Pre-K to adults in a variety of settings in Australia, Japan and across the New York tri-state. Whether in a correctional center, disadvantaged or gifted and talented school or at a corporate convention - Stella’s unique approach to teaching, which includes drama technique, role play and improvisation, guarantees results.

In 1984 Stella founded the ‘No Grant Theatre’, Australia’s most successful Theatre-in-Education team (Victorian Ministry of Education, 1986). Students were provided with issue based material to watch, talk and write about and teachers were provided with accompanying study kits designed and written by Stella. In 1993 Stella was commissioned to devise the English curriculum for N.O.V.A., an English language school for adults in Japan.
