Through the Classroom Door: An Inside Look at Differentiation
Outstanding, Creative, Beneficial, Informative, Motivating, Recommendable, Inspirational, Awesome, Wonderful, Insightful, Useful, Excellent, Helpful, and Educational were just a few words to describe last week’s AUSSIE workshop Through the Classroom Door: An Inside Look at Differentiation.
Liz Irwin, AUSSIE Consultant and doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership, facilitated the workshop as nearly 50 school leaders participated in a hands-on sharing and learning around how instruction should vary and be adapted to each individual student and what the implications to making that happen are for teachers. It was an exciting day centered around how to differentiate content, product and process in order to maximize each student’s growth.
One principal from Brooklyn commented – “ Today, I learned that differentiation takes time. It is important to start small using your assessments as a baseline and go from there but, just start!”
AUSSIE is tackling differentiation in the upper grades next! Check out our upcoming workshops or post your comments on differentiation below.
