THE CONNECTED CLASSROOM: INCREASING STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
How do we bring about change that transforms the way students think and learn? Research indicates that, when students take ownership of and engage in authentic learning experiences, academic achievement increases.
During this hands-on workshop participants will explore:
- NETS (National Educational Technology Standards) for students and teachers;
- the role of teacher and student with an emphasis on learning spaces designed for student-centered, collaborative learning;
- best practices for implementing project-based/inquiry based learning experiences;
- how to transform curricula through integrated curriculum mapping and units of study involving 21st century tools.
