HONING MEDIA LITERACY SKILLS VIA PROJECT-BASED LEARNING EXPERIENCES
How do we prepare students to thrive in a media saturated world? Media literacy provides a framework to access, analyze,
evaluate and create messages in a variety of forms — from print to video to the Internet.
During this hands-on workshop participants will explore:
- strategies for integrating media literacy into the curriculum;
- essential skills of inquiry and self-expression necessary for digital citizenry;
- preparing students to thrive in a media-saturated world;
- best practices for implementing project-based/inquiry based learning experiences;
- preparing a teacher-model using VoiceThread.
