Technology

This interactive workshop is designed to
assist administrators in the creation and implementation of effective
technology integration plans aligned to the NEW National Educational Technology
Standards (NETS) that have just been released.

Principals will examine these new standards
and discuss the implications for their school. The participants will become more
adept at analyzing and assessing the NETS for students, teachers, and administrators,
as well as the different methodologies that are currently being used to support
learning with technology.

This workshop will look at several schools
in NYC where technology integration plans are being successfully implemented
and where they have a strong focus on preparing students to compete in the
global marketplace.

Participants will also begin to brainstorm
strategies for moving their schools forward as 21st century learning
communities. In order to achieve this goal, schools need to develop an
effective technology integration plan and implement the school based
professional development to support such a plan. Different models will be
explored. Other school practical workshops are available from the effective use
of smart boards to setting up classroom blogs and wikis.
