AUSSIE's Internal Professional Development
AUSSIE is committed to providing effective professional development that raises the quality of teaching and learning in every classroom. Research has identified several key principles of effective professional development, including that it be ongoing, job-embedded, and makes clear links between theory and practice.
AUSSIE's comprehensive internal professional development plan is aimed at supporting the professional growth of each of our consultants as well as building a strong sense of community and shared vision for school change.
Quarterly professional development days with nationally recognized educational leaders, content-focused meetings, and self-selected study groups are some of the many ways in which AUSSIE consultants come together on a routine basis to:
- critically reflect on their practice in relation to current research
- deepen their theoretical knowledge about the change process and current issues in education
- identify current initiatives and the impact these have on the way they work
AUSSIE's goal is to develop, nurture, and sustain a professional learning community with a clearly articulated shared vision of professional development that results in systematic and sustainable change.
