Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! and welcome to the IRA 22^nd World Congress on Reading, “Reading in a Diverse World” held this year in San Jose. I feel very privileged to have been one of the over 1450 people from 37 countries (mostly from the Americas, but with generous sprinklings from Oceania and Eastern Europe) who attended.
